We celebrated Owen’s first birthday two weeks ago and I’m still trying to reconcile that she has been here with us for a over a year! I know every parent says it, but my word, time truly does fly by. It seems like the whole first year you’re aniticipating the next milestone, waiting for the next thing they learn to do, or waiting for them. to outgrow a less than exciting phase (hello sleep!) And then before you know it, bam, it' hits you. You managed to keep them alive for a whole year and you’re officially a mama to a toddler. It’s crazy, y’all.
We went back and forth trying to decide what type of party we’d throw Owen - a giant bash with all the people or something small at our house. It literally kept me up at night - ha! In one of our conversations Elisha said, “If it was literally you, me and Owen with a ball, she would be completely content.” And I thought, you’re right. It was exactly what I needed to give me a little perspective. Something small, with the people she loved, in her home where she felt comfortable, was exactly what would be most memorable for us - so that’s what we did! That’s not to say I didn’t have fun decorating our space, and keep the decor up for entirely too long after (the OWEN balloons are still up!!) Hope y’all enjoy a peek at Owen’s party, it was One For the Books!
We love you Owen Justice!
