Music Monday and something extra

Sorry I've been a little more m.i.a then usual. I have been finishing up the moving process, practicing piano SO much and work work working. Now that I finally have a moment to sit back and relax, I wanted to say hello because I missed you. It's true, so often when I'm doing things that are keeping me busy, I find myself dreaming up posts and wishing I was sharing them here. I really love this little blog, as well as each and every one of my lovely readers. With that being said, I want to share my song for this week. With so much stuff that needs to get done, at the end of the day I like to sit in my bed and play a sweet song that makes me pensive and hopeful.

Why I love this song // Well first of all I love love Ben Gibbard's voice; it's so unique and seems to always make me smile. This song kind of awakens something in me; makes me hopeful and daydreamy. I love the guitar in it too, epecially that break in the middle of the song. This is thee perfect driving song... ya know, when you roll down the windows and all you see are fields on either side of you and you have nothing but the open road ahead of you... perfection.

The other day it was Whitney's birthday. We celebrated by eating, of course. It was fun to be with friends and celebrate my new sweet friend's special day^_^

And today I got a couch! My roommate and I spent two hours last night on Craigslist trying to find something decent. Needless to say there were some interesting things for sale. We found one though and it wasn't being sold by a creep and we did not get napped when we went to pick it up (woo!) We took Cynthia's boyfriend as backup, ha! It fits perfectly in the living room and I will soon be able to give you all a tour^_^

Alive and Well

I'm alive! After a week of camp, being outdoors in 100 degree weather, hanging out with hundreds of teenagers, I am alive and happier then ever. I had the privilege of being a dorm monitor for the North Texas Youth Camp and let me just say, God did some pretty amazing things. I'll be sharing more about our experiences on my Conversations page. I did want to share a few photos with you though...

It was a blast and after crashing all day yesterday when I got home, I feel refreshed and ready for a fun filled day. As I had mentioned before, the Mr's birthday is just around the corner and since it's the big 25, I've decided to make it extra special and give him a birthweek! I'm so nice! ha! He deserves it for sure. SO today we will begin the festivities. It's still a surprise to him so I won't spill the beans just yet, but I'll let you know how it goes. Also, can I just say that after being away for just five days, I missed y'all so much! I hope you enjoyed our guest posts; I know I did! I love having guests here and look forward to sharing more with you.

One last thing! Sheesh, I'm writing so much, but I feel like I haven't talked to y'all in so long that I have way to much to share. I just got finished posting the August sponsor spots in the shop. There have already been quite a few requests and I apologize for not having it ready until now. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I so look forward to working with each of you!

Second Birthday

Today the Mr and I celebrated a little thing we like to call, second birthday!! Since he was away on my birthday, we had to postpone the celebration til today. It was just perfect^_^

The day began with breakfast at Mimi's Cafe; I had never been. Do they have one near you?? If so you need to go, like right now! Their muffins are reason enough to drop what you're doing and get yourself over there! Delicious. Then I was taken to Anthro for a shopping spree! Yep! I got some pretty pretty things!! Theeeen we went on over to a cool coffee house and I drank an iced chai and opened up my next present.... mint headphones!! eeep! I have been wanting these for at least a year. They are just as perfect as I had hoped. We watched movies, ordered gourmet pizza and had the best day ever. I feel like such a lucky gal. I'm sad my birthday festivities are over, but I'm so excited for 23. I think this'll be a good year. Are you 23? Have you been 23? Was it good for you??

PS: I am going to be away at camp this coming week. I think I may have mentioned this... But no worries, I have some sweet posts lined up for you from some of my lovely sponsors!! I know you'll enjoy them. OH and we'll still have our regular weekly features! So long friends!

Oh Mr.

This will be my final birthday related post, promise! I just had to share this sweet thing the Mr did. Throughout the day he shared 23 things about me. It was so kind and thoughtful and made the whole day feel like one big surprise. I loved checking my phone all day to see what he wrote!

I felt like the luckiest girl in the world; not only because he had such sweet things to say, but because he took the time out of his veryyyy busy day to think these up, post them and make my day so much brighter! It meant so very much to me and I can't wait to make his birthday extra special ^_^

Birthday Boots

I had a pretty fun filled birthday. I got to spend all day with two of my favorite people; Kalli and Kelsey!
We started the day by driving to Dallas and eating at Urban Taco, which you've heard me talk about many a time^_^ Needless t say, it was delicious.
Then we headed on over to the cutest little cupcake shop. They even gave me a free cupcake because it was my birthday! So sweet. I got a coconut cupcake and it was aaamaziiiing and a chai tea was the perfect compliment to it.

Then we went to Buffalo Exchange. I got a pretty top and some new sunglasses. They're both real pretty and I'll show you in a minute!

Theeeen we went to a super cute vintage shop called Ahab Bowen. It was so quaint and pretty inside. It was filled with real pretty dresses, hats, scarves and so much more. I found thee perfect peach boots there and a sweet scarf too!
We tried on this way cute turban; it was really really pretty. Kelsey ended up buying it^_^

It was time to eat again, so we went and got some yummy crepes!! Mine was filled with poblano sauce, mushrooms, and spinach. It came with fresh fruit and toast too, all for like five bucks!

Before I decided to go hangout with the girls, I was just gonna sit at home and be lame, ha! But really, I was okay with being alone and that was the plan. SO when I got home after our Dallas adventure, I found this sweet basket on my bed. It was filled with magazines, nail polishes, POM juice, itunes giftcard, candy and Beverly Hills Chihuahua!! And guess who it was from!? The Mr! He's the best^_^ It was so perfect, and included a card that explained how he had planned to give this to me to keep me occupied while I spent the day at home. Isn't he just the cutest?? Yes.

Here's a photo of everything I purchased. Do you see my birthday boots?? Aren't they perfect? Yes. OH and I forgot to mention that we went to Urban; that's where my cute new fox wallet came from! Love.

And that was my day! I'm 23 now and I feel like.... kinda the same, ha! I'm excited for this year and all that it will bring! So long for now!

As my birthday is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make a wish list. These are things I've had my eye on for quite some time and if I just got one, that would be perfecto!

A pretty white ipad... Actually I should've made this a new laptop, but I can't help but think these things are so cute!

Cute cute shirts

I love dreaming up wish lists! I think if I get anything, it'll be those cute mint headphones and eyeshadows^_^ The Mr has his birthday coming up at the end of July so I thought it would be fun to do a his and her wish list. I really like getting present {who doesn't??} but I reeeally love giving gifts! I can't wait to share what I got the Mr. When is your birthday and what's on your wish list??
