W E A R | save all the dogs

 DETAILS || jeans:target, top:hello apparel, boots:steve madden, necklace:rocksbox

I was so excited when I saw this top being featured on the Hello Apparel instagram! I love all things dogs (obvi), so it was a no brainer to get this tee! I opted for a medium for a looser fit (in case you care). And I felt it only appropriate that Gretchen make a cameo. I sure do love this hound!

My family is in town so we're having a blast hanging out. Tomorrow we head out to Austin to visit Adrienne and watch Elisha run in his Super Spartan. I have my race next week and I couldn't be more nervous excited! I never thought I would try to complete a Spartan Race, but when you set your mind to something, you just make it happen. I'm really thankful that Elisha has been so encouraging and supportive. Here's hoping I don't die, ha! I'll keep you all posted.

Okay, long story, but my computer crashed (like dead) about 3 months ago, and with it it took all of my photos, documents, music and basically any other digital thing I had of value. Insert crying panic emoji. Elisha was able to help me recover a few things, but I realized that I had a few photos still on my camera; they would just need to be re-edited, so all was not lost! So, I found this style shoot I did while visiting my parents in San Antonio, and I figured I'd share! Yes, I have bangs in these, and they are finally starting to grow out of the awkward "we don't know what we are" phase, so praise God!

Today I'm headed out to a fun conference with some women from my church. I'm excited to have a time to recharge and refocus. I got to catch up with a friend this last week who I hadn't seen in two years. It's always great when you can pick up right where you left off without skipping a beat, isn't it?! While we were talking I was reminded of how wonderful it is to have friends who speak life into you, call you out and inspire you to keep dreaming big. I love the people God has placed in my life and I'm realizing how important it is to feed into those relationships and foster the good things I've been given. I'm finding myself in a place of reprioritizing and like a new season is kicking in, and I'm excited to see what's next!

I'm currently living in these jeans; they're just so dang comfy! I felt a bit of nostalgia when purchasing them, as ripped jeans were most of my wardrobe at the end of high school. What are you gonna do?? When it works, it works.

I have quite the busy week ahead and I wanted to drop a line and say hello. I have a few posts lined up and a craft fair coming up next week! I'll be sharing some more details soon, for those of you in the area - I'd love to meet you! I hope y'all have a fab day and a wonderful week!

Normally, I'm not a huge fan of snow; primarily because I hate being cold. However, this time around, I don't know what it is, but I'm love love loving it! It may have something to do with added time off to spend at home cuddling with husband and Gretchen... but who knows! I ventured out to take a few photos until I couldn't feel my fingers anymore! I bought this poncho like 3 years ago and it's still one of my favorite pieces in my closet! It's literally like I'm wearing a blanket and who can complain about that??

I have been working on some new pieces for the shop, that I have yet to share here, but if you follow me on instagram, you've had plenty of peeks! I'll be sure to share a few photos and a more in depth look, soon!

Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend - relax, hug a friend, remember how blessed you are!

D E T A I L S :: dress/macy's, tights/chicwish, sweater/kohls, boots/nordstrom, beanie/free people

This last week we got a ton of ice and snow, which resulted in early releases, days off and tons of cozy netflix marathons! We did venture out into the snow a few times, and I found myself extremely grateful for a husband that lived in Wisconsin for two years! He knew how to handle the roads, but it was sorry to see those that did not.

To catch you up: I've been going full speed with work and school. Our church is moving into our new building next month!! My sister and I are headed to CAMP Texas Style Council in 3 weeks! The PS shop is back - and I added a few new items! I'll be at Walk the Light in April, so there will be a ton more items being stocked in the shop soon! Gretchen is still as cute as ever. I'm training for a Spartan Race in May, with Elisha. Whew. Got all that?

How about you?? What's new!? I know I've been on hiatus, but I have some fun posts in the works and you can expect to see a lot more from me!

God will often gives me short phrases throughout my day,when I am praying or giving in to worry or stress. These words help me to refocus and gain perspective. I usually write them on sticky notes and place them on my computer or desk as a reminder. I'm actually pulling them out fo my drawer now to write them down because I thought I'd share a few of them with each of you; in case you find yourself in a place in need of encouragement of inspiration.

Create a meaningful presence - I don't want to be easily forgotten. I want to be missed.

When I feel like there's nothing I can do, it means that He can now do everything - this one was from today.

Don't Compare. Don't Compete. Don't Complain.

"What if I say something wrong?" "What if you say nothing at all?" - this was actually a conversation I had with God; wrestling with whether or not I should reach out to a friend to let her know what I felt like God wanted her to know. Sometimes saying nothing is much worse than saying something "the wrong way".
Change is inevitable. Embrace the change. - definitely living in this season!

Unrelenting focus on God.

What in your life truly makes you feel "good enough". - great question to ask yourself to help you evaluate where your head is at and what you place your priorities in.

Where you are willing to lead, I am willing to follow.

True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less. - this one got me good!

When you rush, you forget who you are and whose you are. - I struggle with "being still" anyone else?

Hope these give some of you a boost of encouragement! Do any of you post notes throughout the day? If so, I would love to hear some of your thoughts or phrases that help you get through each day; share in the comments below!

W E A R :: all a blur

Elisha and I had so much fun this Christmas visiting my Dad and Stepmom at their new home. Their land has the best views and I had so much fun exploring. I'll be sharing a few more posts with some peeks of their backyard soon.

While I was taking these photos, the settings got a bit mixed up and they didn't actually focus - womp. But as I was going through them, I decided I still liked them! Everything doesn't always have to be clear and in focus, sometimes a little blur creates some wonder.

Do you have any fun New Year's plans??

Did I mention that I turned 26 this month. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty aprehensive about the whole thing. I generally don't enjoy birthdays much, as it is, but for some reason the idea of 26 seemed so daunting. I think mostly because 25 set a pretty high standard. At 25 I got married, we got an apartment, we got a dog, I got a job that I love, I started graduate school and I struggled/beat the crap out of some obstacles. God was really great at 25. So I was pretty content with sticking to 25 for the rest of my life.

In the last few weeks though, I've started to see myself and the world around me a bit differently. Sure, I'm not just suddenly so much wiser or more mature, but there's been a shift and I think I'm okay with 26. I might even be a little excited about it. God is still God, which means He's still great and He's still going to do some great things.

What was your favorite age??

This has been the busiest Summer ever, but like, in a good way. I've been working and traveling and finishing up my first semester of grad school... and it's been the most rewarding. I feel like I'm building a life I'll be proud of in the coming years.

I've also had this thought in my mind for the last few days, so I thought I'd throw it out to you and see what you think: would you rather accomplish 5 good things, or 1 great thing? Good isn't bad, but it's certainly not great, so I wonder, do we over exert ourselves to be good in many areas or should we narrow our focus on what we're great at and do something truly memorable? I've been going back and forth between the two and I'm sure in a perfect world we could have it both ways, but we only have so much to give and you can either give 100% to one, or 20% to five. Sometimes I feel like I don't give the things I truly love, the attention they deserve, because I'm stuck doing something else I'm not nearly as passionate about. Being well rounded is wonderful, but shouldn't we spend our lives on what moves us; the things that make our heart beat? Just thoughts and ramblings, but I'd love to hear your perspectives! Love you ladies!
